Alisa Garza

Alisa Garza is a product of the Edinburg Consolidated School District (ECISD); having attended ECISD from pre-kinder through 12th grade. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 2000 and attended the University of Texas Pan American where she became a first generation college graduate in 2008. She continued higher education at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and obtained a Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy with a Specialization as a Reading Specialist. Additionally, she attended Region One’s Integrated Leadership Principal Preparation Program in 2017.

Mrs. Garza taught 6 years at the elementary level and an additional 8 years at the middle school. During her time as an educator, Mrs. Garza was a sponsor for student council, the Elementary Honor Society, a UIL coach, an SBDM representative, a curriculum writer for over 10 years, Department Head for Reading Language Arts, and a coding sponsor for After School Programs.  

Mrs. Garza believes that a child’s education is a partnership of opportunity and continuous support. She states that, “Despite the difficulties that lay in our path, it is imperative to be resilient, persevere, and always try our best. Because we don’t fail, we merely postpone success.”
